We “REALLY” want
to participate in the World Robotics Olympiad (WRO), so as early as March 15, 2012,
we decided to construct the field for the Junior/Robot Columbus and
Senior/Robot Van Gogh category through the information published in the
internet. But we were disappointed when we saw the Philippine Robotics Olympiad
(PRO) rules and regulation last May because we found out that the Senior Robot
Van Gogh category was not included. What saddened us more was the fact that the
Robot Van Gogh field was the first field that we constructed. So we were like “ahhhhhhhh”…

Through
our “ambagan” we were able to hire an expert carpenter who built our field for
the Junior/Robot Columbus category. It took two days for Mr. Carpenter to
finish the field. We, Jailbreakers were the one who refined the field and add
details like the red, blue and black duct tape.

After classes, we continued to work on our field. Other members of the Munsci Jailbreakers (that is, not a PRO representative) also helped us prepare the field. Ian measured precisely the length of each black path needed in the field. Gian, Lindy, Ron, Rhencis and Denden also helped him in making the layout of the field, covering the base with black, blue and red duct tapes. We also made a resourceful type of cans that was required for the field.
After all the stories we shared and jokes we cracked, we finally had the thought of going home. We finished the field before 9pm. After cleaning the mess we made, we packed our bags and headed home. And tomorrow, we'll start planning a design for our team robots. :)

ok, we went to mang mhar today and asked on what could be done regarding our gear problems and how we could make our two motors and wheels drive together at the same speed. mang mhar suggested that we use a y-link. we immediately went off and asked the motor shops and stores if they have a y-link. to no avail we ended the day with all the shops turning us all down because they don't know what a y-link is. then only to find out that it is really called an offset link :(

We were lucky enough that one of our 2 teams in the regular-category ranked first place in the semi-finals. Even though it our Open-category team was not that prepared as the other teams, we are still proud because in our hearts we are a true winner for the reason that "we all" worked hard for it and our representatives defended so well....
